Studio 8 Architecture
Studio 8 is an Architectural Design service based in Penarth in the Vale of Glamorgan, specialising in residential extensions, renovations and interiors.
The studio takes on all aspects of the design process from concept through to planning and tender packages for projects across the area, ranging in size from individual interiors to full renovations and extensions.
Studio 8 specialises in architectural visualisation, modelling your project in detail down to the fixtures and fittings, and creating photorealistic renderings and walkthroughs to see your space in 3D.
Tom Wakeman
Architectural Designer. MSc, MArch.
Tom started Studio 8 in July 2021, having worked for the past 10 years at a number of award-winning architects in the UK and US. Tom attained his Masters degree in Architecture at The Welsh School of Architecture.
He takes a thoroughly Modernist approach to design, creating beautiful, functional spaces with a passion for materials, simplicity and refined detail. Having travelled extensively across Europe including Scandinavia, Barcelona and Italy and across the US, he brings international perspectives and outlooks to design within the constraints of our UK climate.
With a breadth of practical experience working on period properties, he has a vast knowledge of the intricacies of historic building practices, and the best ways of updating and improving their performance sympathetically. He is also adept in the fields of low-energy retrofit and systems, modern construction methods and home automation.
In his spare time, he loves to get out in the garden and hike the Welsh countryside.
